BACKGROUND
Coby M. Hyman brings over 20 years of tax and legal expertise to the law firm.
Mr. Hyman previously served as in-house Tax Counsel for two of the largest investment management firms in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, providing tax advice related to the structuring of both onshore and offshore investment transactions. At these positions, Mr. Hyman focused on designing tax-efficient structures for holding numerous different classes of investments, frequently utilizing financial derivatives and employing unique structures to enable both investment fund vehicles to minimize the tax consequences associated with holding billions of dollars in hedge fund and private equity fund investments.
Mr. Hyman specializes in sophisticated tax planning for closely held businesses and middle market companies. Mr. Hyman regularly advises clients on both tax and legal issues in connection with corporate M&A, real estate, and commercial transactions and advises clients on alternative risk planning, captive insurance planning, and other sophisticated planning strategies for clients in a variety of industries.
